Saving and Managing Queries in TeamSQL

You can easily save the queries you execute in TeamSQL for future reference.

You can initiate a save by clicking Save Query, using CTRL + S (in Linux or Windows), or using ⌘ + S (in macOS). You will be prompted to provide a name for your query if this is the first time you’ve saved.

TeamSQL now displays the name of your query in the query’s tab, as well as in the left-hand navigation bar.

Viewing Your Saved Queries

In addition to accessing your saved queries using the File Explorer on the left-hand side of the TeamSQL window, you can manage them using the Cloud Storage area. You can access the Cloud Storage area by clicking on the cloud icon to the left of the File Explorer.

In the Cloud Storage area, you can view:

  • Queries that you’ve saved in the My Files tab
  • Queries that your colleagues have shared with you in the Shared With Me tab

Also, the Shared With Me area contains tabs indicating queries that have been Shared With Me and Shared By Me.

Organizing Your Saved Queries

You can organize the queries that you saved and now appear in the My Files tab.

To organize your queries using folders, click on New Folder. When prompted, provide a name for your folder and click Create to proceed.

To add the desired queries into the folder, you can simply drag and drop the files onto the folder.

Creating Sub-Folders

If you need additional organization, you can create sub-folders. To create a subfolder, you will first need to open up the parent-level folder.

Click on New Folder. When prompted, provide a name for your sub-folder and click Create to proceed.

To add the desired queries into the folder, you can simply drag and drop the files onto the folder.

Moving Files Out of and Deleting Sub-Folders

Deleting a sub-folder will delete the sub-folder and all of its contents. As such, you will want to move the contents out before deleting.

You can do this by opening up the sub-folder and clicking on the file you want to move. This will present to you the Options toolbar.

Click Move. When prompted, indicate the folder level to which you want the query moved.

Once your sub-folder is empty, return to its parent folder. Only at this point can you click on and delete the sub-folder.
